We're addicted to media. Smartphones just serve it best right now
I came across a new organization called Mothers Against Media Addiction (MAMA) and was fascinated by its focus on this. I attended their rally at Meta offices in NYC to learn more about their efforts.

Julie Scelfo: We as an entire society need to rethink our relationship to media.
[Presenting] History will show that Big Tech and Big Social Media companies are worse than Big Tobacco.
Senator Andrew Gounardes: The world has changed a thousand times over. The internet has changed 10,000 times over. There is no way we can continue to use a law from 25+ years ago to protect our kids in the internet of today.

· Julie’s background, the founder of MAMA
Jules: Julie, we are here in front of the Meta offices today. You are the founder of MAMA, Mothers Against Media Addiction. Can you tell me a little bit about your background and how you started this organization?
Julie: Sure. I'm a longtime journalist, but before I became a journalist, I studied something called “media ecology” – which is a very funny name, but it's an attempt to describe the way in which media environments shape human perception and society.
