Goodbye social media
Early 2000s Google was often critiqued as a copycat platform, especially in comparison to Yahoo. Aside from companies like Microsoft, they were basically trying to build and claim the internet.
Clearly, Google's infrastructure and advancements beat out Yahoo over time.
I feel like its story draws a lot of parallels to what we're seeing with social media platforms right now: all of them copying each other as they battle for our attention. TikTok's rise was quick, officially surpassing Instagram in Gen Z users and also taking the watch time reign over YouTube.
So who will survive as the front runner?
